People often inquire about the origins of the art in our gallery. We are proud to feature works by approximately 30 local artists in our small store in downtown Arcadia, FL. Almost every artist contributing to the gallery resides within an hour of our shop. Much of the inspiration for the works we showcase is deeply rooted in Florida.
Several local photographers exhibit stunning captures of Florida's diverse wildlife and landscapes. From beach scenes and alligators in rivers to local insects and rodeo scenes, the variety is impressive.
Glassworks capture the essence of nature, the beach, and fossils. You'll discover resin tables embellished with shark teeth from our west coast beaches, bracelets crafted with sea glass from the rivers, and photographs that showcase the beauty of North Florida springs and East Coast sunrises against coastal settings.
Oils and acrylics in a spectrum of colors vividly illustrate stories of life in and around our shared state. Textures and shapes draw you in, while shiny, shimmering pieces catch your eye, offering something to see in nearly every corner here.
Just as we showcase a variety of mediums, our artists come from a wide range of backgrounds. We have the reserved, quiet painter who only appears to deliver their pieces, alongside the adventurous couple with fascinating stories of journeys that fuel their art. Some artists have extensive formal training and have built careers around their creativity, while others are self-taught and create art as a means to escape other concerns in life.
Our gallery doesn't follow a single theme. We appreciate and celebrate the convergence of diverse ideas in one space, allowing us to connect with more customers by offering a wider range of options and price points. Whether it's a small 5x7 print to brighten a cozy corner, a uniquely redesigned dresser for your bedroom, a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings for your bestie's birthday, or a hand-forged metal sculpture for dad, you'll find something to suit almost any taste at Pletcher's on Monroe.
